This article systematically reviews the research progress and applications of digital twin in hull damage identification. Firstly, the article explains the concept of digital twin, introduces its core features, and highlights the unique advantages of digital twin in damage identification. Secondly, the article focuses on analyzing the applications of digital twin in damage identification. The hull damage identification, based on digital twin, has significantly improved identification accuracy and response speed by building a high-fidelity virtual model for real-time data interaction with the ship. Finally, the article explains the future development trends in this field, including the key difficulties and development directions in each technical link of digital twin.
