We have developed a technology that utilizes PC operation logs for business process mining. This research aims to promote business process reform and digital transformation (DX) by capturing actual business activity histories and mapping business processes in cyberspace. We define tasks as the work involved in creating various deliverable documents essential for business operations and consider documents with similar content as instances of the same task. By using the creation date and time of these documents as the execution timestamp of the corresponding tasks, we estimate business processes, including the order and transitions of task execution. In addition, our technology enables the estimation of time spent on specific business activities and the identification of tasks that frequently involve switching between applications or files. We applied this technology to analyze the invention creation activities of industry researchers and business activities related to academic conferences. As a result, we confirmed the effectiveness of business process visualization, which we report in this study.
