Iterative methods are usually utilized to solve large-scale finite element method (FEM) problems. However, they can sometimes require a large number of iterations to converge to approximate solutions. This is especially remarkable when the element shapes include both sparse and dense elements. In this paper we investigate the convergence characteristics of the domain decomposition method applied to the full-wave electromagnetic FEM problems modeled with flat brick elements.
