Cross-correlation of Gaia DR3 Stellar Kinematics with Fermi LAT Gamma-ray Residual: 3.3σ Evidence for Spatial Coincidence

We present the first cross-correlation analysis between a kinematic dark matter halo map constructed from Gaia DR3 stellar radial velocities (500, 000 stars) and a Fermi LAT gamma-ray residual (687, 491 photons, 10–50 GeV, 17 years). Using velocity dispersion σ²√d as a gravitational potential proxy and subtracting the GALPROP gllᵢemᵥ07 diffuse model, we find Spearman ρ = 0. 080 with 3. 3σ significance (10, 000 permutation test, bootstrap 95% CI = 0. 041, 0. 122). The signal is temporally stable (2. 8σ + 2. 6σ in independent halves), concentrated at large angular scales (ℓ = 2–20), spatially uniform (jackknife CV = 0. 44), and decreases with energy consistent with the Galactic Center Excess spectrum. These properties are expected from dark matter annihilation in an NFW halo and inconsistent with instrumental artifacts.
