For the first time, the possibilities of using data from Landsat 8 and Harmonized Landsat Sentinel-2 (HLS-2) Earth remote sensing spacecraft for metasomatic changes were assessed for the territory of the eastern slope of the Polar Urals (Toupugol-Khanmeishorsky ore district and Shchuchya zone). The analysis of the obtained results showed that the data from both spacecraft have a high potential for mapping metasomatic changes. At the same time, the Landsat 8 sensor better identifies oxides of di- (magnetite) and trivalent iron (hematite), and the HLS-2 sensor - hydroxyl- (Al-OH, Mg-OH) and carbonate-containing minerals, as well as iron oxides and hydroxides. Thus, when mapping metasomatic changes, it is necessary to separately apply and consider the data obtained from each of the sensors, since the combination of data from both spacecraft contains more mineral information and complements each other.
