Abstract Mycoplasma genitalium (MG) is increasingly recognized as a sexually transmitted cause of nongonococcal urogenital infections. MG demonstrates high rates of antimicrobial resistance, and there are few available treatment options for infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms. There is a paucity of guidance on the management of MG infections in which initial therapy fails, and additional globally accessible treatments are needed to address this rising clinical challenge. This report describes the first in-human case of refractory MG infection that was cured after treatment with omadacycline.
