This is a comment on Romman et al. Appl. Phys. A 131, 828 (2025). We show that the anomalously deep pair-potential wells reported for the Farid local-field correction function are artifacts of a bracket misplacement in the coefficient formula. When correctly implemented, the Farid and Ichimaru–Utsumi LFCFs yield nearly identical pair potentials.
