On the first day of the 30th annual Conference of the Parties (COP30), Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva promised attendees that this COP would be different. It would be the “COP of Truth,” rooted in the Brazilian idea of Mutirão, a collective effort driven by solidarity. It is a different way of interacting; one that is relational and grounded in community and mutual support.
