I’m sharing recent work on the dynamics of coherence in forces as a step toward building more capable AI systems. We present the first experimental validation of a Law of Emergent Intelligence, which posits that intelligence emerges from the dynamic interaction of generative tension, coherence, information integration, and predictive accuracy. Using a multi-agent simulation with 120 agents across three environmental tension conditions, we systematically tested whether environmental stress (generative tension, GT) causally affects system-level emergent intelligence (EI). Across three iterations refining experimental parameters (N=240 total trials), we found a highly significant negative relationship between GT and EI: F=30.708, p<0.0001 Cohen's d=1.558 (top 1% effect size) EI strongly predicts adaptive performance (r=0.537, p<0.0001) Results provide evidence for quantifiable, substrate-independent intelligence emergence and suggest that optimal tension levels depend on system coordination capacity.
