Micro–Computed Tomographic Evaluation of Shaping Ability by Novice Dental Students and Their Preference of Nikel‐Titanium File; Rotation Versus Reciprocation System
Key Points
This research evaluates the shaping ability of novice dental students using different nickel-titanium file systems.
Micro-computed tomography was used to assess shaping ability.
Novice dental students used both rotation and reciprocation file systems.
Instrumentation time and canal outcomes were measured.
The reciprocation system showed less canal transportation than the rotation system.
Students preferred the reciprocation system overall.
The reciprocation system reduced the time required for instrumentation.
Abstract
The reciprocation system was preferred in aggregate over the rotation system by novice dental students and showed less canal transportation and better centering ability with shorter instrumentation time.
