This study aimed to establish standardized norms and evaluate the psychometric properties of the computerized Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices Computer Based Test in a Qatari adolescent population. Utilizing a norming methodology based on Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory (IRT) framework. The model tested for the presence of both uniform and non-uniform DIF. The study assessed a stratified sample of 4279 students (1849 males and 2430 females) aged 11–18 years using the web-based SPM-CBT and the Draw-A-Person Intellectual Ability (DAP:IQ) test. Results demonstrated excellent overall reliability (Cronbach's α = .92), strong split-half reliability, and a confirmed hierarchical difficulty progression across test sets. Factor analysis indicated that the measure was not unidimensional, revealing a dominant primary factor alongside a meaningful secondary dimension. The DIF result showed an extensive DIF at the item level, and the TCCs demonstrated the absence of bias at the overall test level. Female students consistently outperformed male students with higher mean scores and lower variability. A moderate correlation with the DAP:IQ (r = .45) supported validity, leading to the creation of comprehensive age- and gender-stratified normative data. • Highlight 1 Established first Qatari adolescent norms for the computerized Raven's SPM (N = 4279), ages 11–18. • Highlight 2 Female students consistently outperformed males with higher scores and lower variability. • Highlight 3 The SPM-CBT demonstrated excellent overall reliability (Cronbach's α = .91). • Highlight 4 Factor analysis revealed the test is not strictly unidimensional, showing secondary factors. • Highlight 5 Item analysis reveals poor discrimination in Set E, suggesting need for revision.
