The interest in the science fiction is constantly growing. It can be seen that the research interaction between law and works in sci-fi genre is pretty stable: the philosophers of law periodically take those works as a base for researches, as well as science-fictionists are often reflect some problems from the field of law. However, despite the fact, that it is obvious that some sci-fi works contain speculations on the questions, that are particularly in the sphere of interests of international law, international lawyers are not interact with sci-fi that often. It must be said, that there are some articles, written in the sphere between sci-fi and international law, albeit none of these works can answer the question, why international lawyers can and should be interested in sci-fi. This article is aimed to answer this question by content-analysis of all accessible researches of international lawyers, that are using science-fiction in them. The findings suggest that the main reasons for such works are; the fact that sci-fi is reflecting the current condition of international law; brings some new problems that must be; offers solutions for the existing problems and is a useable tool for thought experiments.
