The effect of the internal structure of parts manufactured by the FDM 3D printing method from ABS plastic on their strength and performance properties is investigated. Compression tests of samples with various filling forms and different density degrees have been carried out. The results have shown that a certain type of filling at an average density provides an optimal strength-to-weight ratio. Experiments at low temperatures have not reveal any deterioration in strength characteristics, and in some cases, their improvement is observed. The results confirm the possibility of using the FDM printing for the manufacture of non-responsible automotive components.
