A magnetometer survey was carried out on part of a field belonging to Lock Cottage The aim of this survey was to see if a feature described in an earlier survey report as rectilinear ditches, possibly forming enclosures of a Roman date, extend further northwards. The results show that they do and also appear to include a possible building roughly 20m by 10m in size which may contain several large pits.
