This paper presents a systematic literature review examining gendered political discourse across Pakistani and Western contexts. Through thematic synthesis of five peer-reviewed studies, it identifies recurring patterns in how female politicians linguistically negotiate the tension between traditional gender expectations and the masculine requirements of political authority. The review critiques existing scholarship for its narrow methodological scope, limited media contexts, and inattention to intersectional dimensions of gender and power — particularly within Pakistan's patriarchal political environment. It further argues that the literature fixates on how female politicians acquire linguistic authority while largely overlooking how that authority is exercised once held. The paper maps these gaps and proposes directions for future research, including whether observed linguistic patterns reflect inherent gender differences or simply the universal demands of political power itself.
