A BSTRACT Acute pancreatitis is a rare complication of enteric fever, primarily seen in adults. Its diagnosis is based on clinical symptoms, elevated serum amylase and lipase levels, and abdominal CT scans. Notably, serum lipase levels have a high negative predictive value for this condition. In this case report, we discuss a case of a child with enteric fever who developed acute pancreatitis, even though her serum amylase and lipase levels were normal.
