Overview While university programs excel at installing the "software" of technical skills and theoretical knowledge, students often enter the workforce lacking the underlying "operating system" required to thrive under pressure. This Open Educational Resource (OER) module bridges that gap. It translates nebulous "soft skills" into concrete, trainable executive functions. Designed for university business faculties, career services, and corporate training environments, this module equips early-career professionals with actionable strategies for self-management, cognitive endurance, and complexity management. Target Audience Undergraduate and graduate business students (especially capstone or career-readiness courses) MBA candidates entering high-stakes corporate roles Early-career professionals and management trainees Learning Objectives Upon completion of this module and the associated exercises, participants will be able to: Manage Cognitive Load: Apply strategies to mitigate decision fatigue and isolate high-value information from noise. Regulate Emotional Responses: Utilize the "24-Hour Draft" and physical grounding techniques to transform emotional reactions into rational, professional responses. Execute Strategic Prioritization: Differentiate between urgent and important tasks to protect deep-focus work. Practice Reflective Post-Mortems: Conduct objective backward-tracing on failures using the "5 Whys" and "Rose, Bud, Thorn" frameworks to ensure continuous improvement.
