Housing has been identified as one of the basic necessities of life, besides water, food and clothing (UN-Habitat, 2002). At such, housing has proved to be a globally essential necessity of man even in government policy formulations. On Precautionary measures, it is important to make efforts towards mitigations against housing shortage. This is in view of the fact that housing delivery is one of the vital tools for effective management and planning of towns and cities and this requires the efforts of both the national, international governments, organizations and citizens (UN-Habitat, 2002; Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, 2006). Hence, this study calls for a people-oriented holistic approach to sustainable housing and other infrastructural development policy implementation in the human settlement. It is therefore important to institute a body for housing development planning and development of planning schemes or master plans that ensures proper plan implementation and monitoring. This will help ensure that both government, developers and citizens adhere strictly to provisions of the plan. This study therefore examined urban housing delivery in Awka in order to determine the level of residents satisfaction with it. Secondary data from the official records of Anambra State Housing Corporation and primary data were uses. Yamane (1967) formulae was used to determine a sample size of 400 for the survey. Randomly selected urban residents and developers were engaged in the structured interview. The study revealed that between 2002 and 2011 year period, Anambra State Housing delivery have been abysmal hence, the expression of unsatisfactory at 97.2% rate. Moreover, at 100% response rate, residents and developers however expressed willingness to participate more in housing delivery if land can be made available by government. copyright@2016cepa
