This article examines the professional needs of line managers. The effectiveness of a management system directly depends on taking into account the professional needs of personnel, which determine the motivational mechanisms of work activity. Studying this issue is valuable not only for the development of theoretical principles but also for the daily work practices of modern organizations. The purpose of this paper is to explore current concepts of the professional needs of line managers in an agricultural enterprise based on an analysis of scientific literature and a survey of line managers. To achieve this goal, the following objectives were set: to review current concepts of professional needs in human resource management research through an analysis of key theoretical approaches; to study the types of professional needs and their impact on work motivation based on classifications presented in the scientific literature; and to develop recommendations based on the conducted research.
