The article presents extended information on the 34th European Congress of Psychiatry (EPA-2026), held in Prague on 28–31 March 2026. It describes the key strands of the congress programme. Particular attention is given to the establishment and first conferment of the EPA Lifetime Achievement Award to Professor Norman Sartorius in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of psychiatry. It is concluded that EPA-2026 strengthened the trend towards a patient‑centred approach in which scientific evidence is combined with digital innovation and the ongoing reform of mental healthcare systems.
