Addyman Archaeology undertook a Watching Brief at Woodburn Farm, Hawick in advance of the construction of a dwelling house and access road. The area upon which the house will be built was cleared down to natural subsoil under archaeological supervision. Excavation in this area revealed a further section of a whin stone masonry wall bonded with lime mortar which was previously partially exposed during evaluation in 2011. The remaining ground works did not reveal any archaeological features or finds.
A Ruchonnet (Wed,) studied this question.
