Upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) remain among the most common illnesses in early childhood and are associated with a high risk of complications due to the anatomical and immunological immaturity of infants and toddlers. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics and complications of URTIs in children aged 6 months to 2 years and to assess preventive approaches for reducing morbidity and hospitalization. A prospective observational study was conducted involving 30 pediatric patients diagnosed with URTIs. Clinical manifestations, laboratory findings, complications, and preventive measures were analyzed over a six-month observation period. The most common complications included acute otitis media, bronchitis, bronchiolitis, and pneumonia. Preventive strategies such as breastfeeding, vaccination, hygienic practices, and parental education demonstrated significant protective effects. Early diagnosis and comprehensive prevention are essential for reducing complications and improving pediatric health outcomes.
