The article discusses the legal mechanisms of cross-border cooperation between the Altai Territory and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The purpose of the study is conditioned by the need to study the legal framework that forms the basis for the development of cross-border cooperation between the Altai Territory and the Republic of Kazakhstan. As a result of the analysis of regulatory documents, it was found that the border position of the Altai Territory, in its Development Strategy, is defined as a strong point, the current stage of partnership is characterized by an expansion of the range of areas and mechanisms of cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main areas of cooperation between the Altai Territory and the Republic of Kazakhstan include addressing the demographic situation and attracting labor, developing the economy, expanding sales markets, and developing tourism and culture.
