The article examines the features of the digital transformation of the banking industry in some countries of the world and Russia. The Russian banking industry actively uses digital technologies in customer service and has a high level of digital maturity. However, the level of digitalization in the Russian banking system is still very heterogeneous. Moreover, newcomers (financial technology companies and digital banks) are emerging that are in real competition with classic banks, and may even displace them if the latter lag behind in innovative development. It describes the features of digital banking in 2024 and the Central Bank's activities in the field of financial technology development and digitalization of the financial market, which stimulated the digital transformation of the Russian banking sector.
