The effect of early intervention programme on mental and motor development of children in Anganwadi Centres of High Burden Districts of U.P., India

This study helps to improve understanding of the importance of sensory stimulation for children aged birth to 42 months, as well as how parents in rural and urban slum areas can help their infants and toddlers reach developmental milestones by providing early sensory stimulation and adequate complementary feeding. The Indian Education System acknowledged the value of early childhood care and education and launched many measures to improve it. According to the research study, the period between birth and three years of age is sensitive for both dietary needs and sensory stimulation. The study clearly showed that early stimulation activities had a positive impact on young children's development. Children from Anganwadi centers in Lucknow who received the intervention performed significantly better in cognitive, gross motor, and fine motor skills compared to those from Unnao, who didn't receive the intervention. The differences were statistically significant, which means the improvement was not by chance but a result of the early stimulation efforts
