ABSTRACT This research examines the knowledge sharing (KS) process and intellectual capital (IC) in a stagnant growth industry of telecom in an emerging economy. IC is used as a mediating variable to test the effect on the relationship between the KS process and organizational performance. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire from the employees of the telecom sector of Pakistan. The analysis was performed by using Smart PLS. The findings show that the KS process is positively related to IC and organizational performance in an emerging economy. Also, IC is positively related to both financial performance (FP) and operational performance (OP). Furthermore, IC is specifically found mediating the relationship between the KS process and organizational performance in an emerging economy context. Among the limited existing underpinnings on the relationship between the KS process, IC, and organizational performance, this research provides an understanding and highlights significant insights in the telecom sector. This research also suggests practical implications for the telecom sector managers and determines whether and how the KS process and IC can enhance organizational performance.
