This skills audit was conducted within the Gender, People with Disabilities, and Youth (GPD&Y) Branch of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI). The audit supports the department's commitment to developing a skilled and capable workforce, aligning with broader national directives such as the National Development Plan (NDP) 2030 and the President's call in the 2023 State of the Nation Address to professionalize the public service. The primary objective of this skills audit is to assess the current skills profile of the GPD&Y Branch's management staff, identify key skills gaps and training needs relative to the branch's critical transformation mandate, and provide recommendations for targeted skills development interventions. This audit focused on officials at the Middle Management Service (MMS) and Senior Management Service (SMS) levels within the GPD&Y Branch. The data was collected using a survey administered via an online platform between February and March 2025. The branch achieved a participation rate of 83% (five out of six officials), ensuring the findings are highly representative of this specialized unit.
