Allen Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Clive Wickes Associates to undertake a geophysical survey by magnetometry on land at The Orchards, Lincoln Road, Dunston, Lincolnshire, as a condition of planning consent for a residential development. The survey has revealed very few features of potential archaeological interest. A large area of magnetic noise within the site likely represents a former cess pit from the local village hall before it was connected to main sewage. There were a couple of curvilinear positive features which could represent parallel ditches, but might relate to a levelled former bank.
