Semantic Field “Insomnia” in M. I. Tsvetaeva’s Early Lyrics

The article presents the results of studying the concept “insomnia” in M. I. Tsvetaeva’s early lyrics. To achieve this research objective, the authors analyse the appropriate semantic field. All the lexical units representing the concept “insomnia” in M. I. Tsvetaeva’s early lyrics are classified into thematic groups. The paper describes the structure of the semantic field identifying its nucleus and periphery and reveals the author’s individual connotations of the analysed concept. The analysis of the semantic field has indicated that the concept “insomnia” in M. I. Tsvetaeva’s early lyrics is ambivalent. On the one hand, it is associated with torments experienced by the lyrical heroine in the state of insomnia, on the other hand - with friendship, and the imparted religious theme allows interpreting this image as a sacral one.
