Written at an undergraduate/postgraduate level, this book is based on a course of lectures given by Dr Reddish to astronomy students at the Case-Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, in the spring of 1969. Part one of the book deals with the structure, energy generating and nuclear synthesizing processes occurring in stable pre-main sequence and main sequence stars, red giants, white dwarfs and neutron stars.
