). Additional climatic, hydraulic, and physicochemical variables were measured to better understand the processes driving changes in these quality indicators. Water samples were collected at three depths and at five or six horizontal locations in the MLM and RDC reservoirs in 2024 and 2025. Results revealed that spatial heterogeneity tended to be higher in the RDC reservoir, particularly during the irrigation period. The MLM reservoir does not exhibit any specific spatial gradient, although concentrations can be highly dispersed on certain dates. The results also indicate that sedimentation provides a meaningful framework to model SRB spores dynamics in TWW reservoirs, based on the assumption of particles associated with organic matter. Winter storage significantly reduces microbial loads but may diminish nutrient availability.
