Achieving environmental sustainability and a green economy requires a fundamental shift in natural resource management and the implementation of effective environmental practices in guest rooms. This study aims to assess the awareness of hospitality employees regarding environmental practices—particularly energy conservation, water saving, and waste management—and their impact on achieving sustainability and a green economy.Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the study focused on housekeeping staff in ten five-star hotels in Alexandria, including department managers, supervisors, and operational staff. Findings indicate a high level of awareness among employees about the importance of environmental practices and a negative correlation between implementation challenges and sustainability outcomes. The study recommends enhancing environmental awareness programs and training, as well as recognizing and encouraging employees who effectively apply these practices. It also calls for institutional support to promote green economy initiatives through regulatory frameworks that encourage investment and the use of renewable resources for long-term environmental and economic benefits
