Task role motivation and attributional style as predictors of entrepreneurial performance: female sample findings

The main thrust of this study was directed at providing empirical evidence, at the gender level, for a predictive model of growth–oriented entrepreneurial performance. The model focuses on: (a) the relationship between role requirements of the entrepreneurial organization and five motivational patterns that fit these roles; (b) the mediating effect of the individual's attributional style for failure and success, and his/her perception of environmental uncertainty, on two of the five motivational patterns. The results of this study corroborate, overall, recent findings with male entrepreneurs. However, some gender differences are indicated.
