Background: Although research on the application of monitoring techniques in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) has expanded considerably in recent years, comprehensive bibliometric analyses that systematically map the knowledge landscape and evolutionary trajectory of this field remain lacking. This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the historical framework and clarify future research trends. Methods: From 2015 to 2024, articles related to “monitoring technology” and “cardiopulmonary resuscitation” were sourced from the Web of Science core collection. CiteSpace software facilitated comprehensive evaluation and visualization of the literature, including annual productivity, collaboration between countries and institutions, co-cited references, author and journal networks, keyword co-occurrence, and their respective trends. Results: A total of 368 articles on monitoring technology applications in CPR were included, with publication numbers steadily increasing since 2020. The United States and the University of Pennsylvania emerged as the most productive entities. Analysis of the top 5 co-cited articles revealed that 2 were expert consensus guidelines and 3 were single-center (multicenter), open-label randomized controlled trials. Emergency and severe diseases dominated the research disciplines. Keyword clustering identified compression and ventilation monitoring as historical focal points, while current hot topics include monitoring tidal volume, spontaneous circulation recovery, and randomized controlled trials. Conclusion: Recent studies suggest that monitoring techniques may enhance spontaneous circulation recovery rates, although evidence from multicenter randomized controlled trials is lacking. Further research is needed to address this gap.
