Coming of the newly elected President D. Trump in 2017 marked the beginning of the new era of Sino-American relations – “decoupling”. The U.S.-China relations are progressing from Obama’s economic integration policy towards active trade war in 2017-2021. Rapid industrial growth of China and massive expansion of Chinese high-tech transnational companies into the world market are challenging the American economic hegemony in the globe. The hetero-geneity of the processes of development of the relations oblige the American elites to conduct an effective information policy in order to preserve the image of the government among its own population and at the same time the possibility of retreating of the stabilization of relations. The analysis of the discourse of the American social political elite in mass media demonstrated a different level of the radicalization of the discourse in the parties. In the absence of prospects for the improvement in the inter-country dialogue with the coming of the democrat Joseph Biden to power the American mass media focuses on China as a strategic threat for the whole global order and “Pax Americana” in the 21st century. In situation of the consensus among the elite there are limited perspectives for the improvement in relations between the countries with the upcoming American administration.
