Managerial Roles: Mintzberg and the Management Process Theorists.

This paper analyzes the role theory developed by Henry Mintzberg with regard to role emphasis by two chief executives. Wide variation in role emphasis and difficulty in applying the leader role as defined by Mintzberg were found. Variation in role emphasis is attributed to the preference of the chief executives, and suggestions are made for future research.
