In snowfall regions, studless tires are used for winter vehicle operation. New studless tires maintain equivalent performance for three seasons when stored in appropriate conditions, and while inspection is recommended for those over five years old, many studless tires exceeding this age are still in use. However, the performance of deteriorated studless tires is not well evaluated.
