Heavy industries have a high risk of commuting accidents, often leading to severe employee injuries. In environments where heavy machinery and vehicles operate, rigorous road safety awareness is essential, and fostering defensive driving habits is crucial. However, traditional lecture-based training lacks hands-on practice, limiting its effectiveness. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of an immersive defensive driving training system utilizing virtual reality. The system integrates diverse virtual scenarios with a somatosensory platform, providing a realistic visual and tactile training experience. Additionally, anti-motion sickness techniques have been implemented to reduce dizziness among first-time users. Results show that immersive simulation courses significantly enhance defensive driving awareness and reduce traffic accidents in heavy industry environments.
