Globally, corporate social responsibility, or CSR, has become a key tool for advancing sustainable development. Corporations have been forced to include ethical, social, and environmental factors into their commercial operations due to shifting stakeholder expectations, environmental concerns, and socioeconomic disparities. This study uses conceptual knowledge and empirical analysis to investigate CSR as a strategic instrument for sustainable development. The evolution of corporate social responsibility (CSR), theoretical frameworks, aspects of sustainable development, and the importance of CSR activities in accomplishing long-term economic, social, and environmental goals are all highlighted in the study. The paper also reviews empirical studies conducted in India and globally to understand the effectiveness of CSR practices. Furthermore, it discusses the challenges faced in CSR implementation and suggests measures for improving corporate contribution toward sustainability. The findings indicate that CSR, when implemented strategically and transparently, can significantly contribute to inclusive growth, environmental protection, and social welfare.
