For an arbitrary dimensionality, an elastic scattering is described by matrices whose composition law is linear with respect to each of the scatterers. A residual resistance provided by the scattering, is related to the free energy of a certain ID nearest-neighbour Hamiltonian. For a sufficiently long wire the resistance increases exponentially with the wire length.
