As the proportion of Americans aged 65 and older increases, the study of technology and aging is emerging as an interdisciplinary field. Literature on computer use by the elderly is reviewed, with a focus on selected topics in five areas of special concern to elders: health care, work and retirement, communication and social interaction, life-style, and economics.
