Abstarct Ethical and moral values - this spiritual-psychological, axiological and even philosophical-anthropological phenomenon has always had a strong influence on great nations throughouthistory, regardless of the interests of large and small nations, even ethnic groups, and has led tothe progress of all mankind. It is no coincidence that ethical and moral values, which covervarious aspects of the human problem, have been accepted by the peoples of the world as aphilosophy of life.The roots of ethical and moral values go back to the history and culture of the first people. Thetraces of ethical and moral values, which underwent a process of formation and formation in theform of families, tribes and subsequently small ethnic communities, and later large peoples andnations, are evidenced in mythology and stone monuments even before written literature.To resemble grandfathers, fathers, grandmothers, to revive the qualities of neighborliness,friendship, sharing each other's beliefs, customs, joys, and sorrows, in itself means a philosophyof life - ethical and moral values.When approaching the problem from this aspect, in historical monuments related to the era ofour first ancestors, in rock petroglyphs, in ancient cities and villages, in every stroke andelement, from names on streets to architecture and architectural features, ethical and moralvalues stemming from national ethnic identity attract attention as a rich scientific source.In this regard, the Identity phenomenon, which is relevant in our modern years, and the issue ofethical and moral values, which is a part of it, have become the state interests of many differentcountries of the world and have become strategically important in political governance.In Azerbaijan, one of the oldest nations in the world, the phenomenon of Identity, includingattention to historical human settlements, ancient monuments, cities, villages, and the socialdevelopment of this area is under special state control.The presented article is written in the direction of scientific tasks arising from the Decree of thePresident of the Republic of Azerbaijan on declaring 2026 the “Year of Urban Planning andArchitecture” in the Republic of Azerbaijan.The object of the research is the topic of ethical and moral values in folk identity in rockmonuments in the ancient Turkic-Azerbaijani settlement of Gobustan.
