In an earlier article the author presented a numerical table which permits an easy calculation of the Debye characteristic temperature at 0°K for cubic metallic elements whose elastic constants exhibit the inequality c12c44. This table has been extended to include some cubic nonmetallic elements whose elastic constants exhibit the inequality c12c44. The new table has been utilized in the calculation of the characteristic temperatures of diamond, Ge, and Si from their elastic constants.
