Nikolaus Marx is Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at RWTH University Hospital Aachen, where he serves as Head of the Department of Internal Medicine I. He received his medical training at the Universities of Mainz, Geneva, and Düsseldorf, obtaining his MD in 1994. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and specialized in intensive care medicine at the University of Ulm before his current appointment in 2009.
