He graduated from the University of Ghent as a medical doctor (MD) in 2004 and earned his PhD in Pharmacology in 2009 and his Master in Business Administration at the Vlerick School in 2008. He is a board-certified specialist in Cardiology in Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands.
