The article examines the history of the Artillery Units Special Training Camp of the Priamur Military District at the Baranovsky artillery range and the Engineer Units Special Training Camp of the same district in 1906—1914 on the basis of the materials of the RSMHA, which are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The article describes the organization of training camps, the nature and methods of training units and formations of troops in artillery and engineering. It was noted the high results in the training of officers and lower ranks and the great importance of the practical knowledge gained already during the World War I, when the sharp increase in the power of artillery, on the one hand, made it a decisive force at the front, and on the other, forced troops to dig into the ground, increasing the role of engineering.
