Abstract The Hero's Journey—centered on conquest and isolation—no longer holds. In a time of ecological and social rupture, ecological folklore offers a different narrative: one rooted in Indigenous, land-based, and Global South traditions. It carries stories of loss, repair, and shared care. This practice nurtures collective resilience and imagination activism, helping us co-create futures grounded in reciprocity, relationality, and the living world.
