An outdoor laboratory test facility was utilized to evaluate the performance of the dynamic ampacity rating algorithm, developed in Part I, and a prototype conductor sensor module for measuring conductor surface temperature, conductor current and ambient air temperature. The test facility consisted of a fully instrumented outdoor mock conductor test loop and a real time data acquisition system. Both steady state and transient load tests were performed and analyzed under a wide variety of meteorological conditions. The ampacity predictions observed were consistent with laboratory test measurements. Cor- relations obtained between sensor module measurements and calibrated sensors was excellent over the intend- ed range of application of the sensor module.
