The rates of intentional self-inflicted injuries leading to a death (suicide) or non-death (suicide attempt) in a population of active duty Army personnel are compared for a 10-year period. Differences among sex, age, and rank within the two groups were found to be statistically significantly different, but only with regard to race in the female death group.
