The purpose of the article is to update the peculiarities of the organization of students’ project activities when studying biology in the 7th grade, which is the foundation for the accumulation of biological and ecological knowledge.Peculiarities of the methodology. Motivational-target component. This is a complex of motivation formation and goal achievement.Content component. The selection of topics and supporting the content of information for the project should always raise the question Why so? It can’t be like that? Do I want to understand this? Process component. This component includes all stages of work on the project. We divided it into stages: 1. Search stage. 2. Research stage. 3. Analytical and corrective stage. Effective component. Includes a presentation stage.During the pedagogical experiment, it was established how the levels of students’ educational achievements in biology changed. When analyzing the results of the experiment, it can be concluded that the number of students with high and sufficient levels of academic achievement increased in the experimental group, where the methods of organizing project activities for the study of biology in the 7th grade were used. At the same time, the number of students with a low level of academic achievement has decreased. Using the Pearson test, statistically significant differences in the levels of formation of educational achievements in biology among students were determined. This testifies to the validity and effectiveness of the method of organizing project activities in the study of biology in the 7th grade.Further research is needed on the impact of the method of organizing students’ project activities when studying biology in the 7th grade on the formation of a valuable attitude towards nature as a whole.
